Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the American company Baker Hughes at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, they discussed the company`s operations in Iraq in the oil and gas sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that gas projects are a priority for the government to meet the needs of power stations and to stop the environmental damage caused by gas flaring. He encouraged the company to contribute to establishing a chemical plant for materials used in drilling and oil extraction processes.

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has received a call, Today on Thursday, from U.S. Secretary of States Michael R. Pompeo.
Mr. Pompeo has congratulated Prime Minister on the occasion of receiving the Parliament's confidence and forming the government, stressing the support of the United States of America to Iraq and the Iraqi government in all fields.

On July 13, Ambassador Al Khirullah met with Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at US Chamber of Commerce and Head of Iraqi-American Business Council (USIBC) and discussed with him the meetings’ outcome of the Iraqi-American Business Council’s delegation visit to Iraq last June, highlighting the government’s orientation towards boosting commercial relations and partnership between the private sector of both countries; and reviewing the government’s priorities on energy, renewable energy, desalination and cooperation in health sector between both countries’ institutes. ...... Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari stressed on the necessity of punishing the Zionist entity for its crimes and that the Islamic and Arab countries should rise to the level of the event. This came in a speech to the minister at the ministerial conference on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul.
