Ambassador Faily attends 'Peace for Iraq' prayer session

August 31, 2014 -- Ambassador Lukman Faily attended a 'Peace for Iraq' prayer session at the Arabic Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia where the congregation gathered to pray for the protection of all Iraqis from terrorism and oppression.

The service was led by Pastor Rev. Wisam Jamil and focused on the suffering of the minorities in Nineveh, a province with a large Christian community.

In remarks after the service, Ambassador Faily said the terrorist group known as ISIL poses a threat to peoples of all religion and humanity as a whole. The Ambassador expressed the Embassy's support to the Iraqi diaspora in the United States and their efforts to raise awareness of the brutal crimes of ISIL.
