Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister Mrs. Margot Wallström and discussed relations between the two countries and means of enhancing bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspiration of the two friendly peoples, especially in the field of health, Iraqi Airways and opening the transport line between Baghdad and Stockholm. In the investment field the transfer of expertise and the importance of exchanging political support in international forums was also emphasized.
Minister Alhakim called for the importance of providing facilities to the Iraqi community residing in Sweden. The two sides also discussed several regional and international issues of common concern.
On her part, Swedish Foreign Affaires Minister Margot Wahlström stressed Sweden’s great interest in developing relations between the two friendly countries in all fields which is reflected positively on the peoples of the two countries.
