Foreign Minister Stresses the Need to Increase Volume of Banking Cooperation between Baghdad and Washington

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein stressed the importance of the joint relations that bind Iraq and the United States of America, and the need to develop them in various fields, especially the development of banking relations between the two sides, expressing his aspiration to benefit from the banking expertise of American banks.

This came in a meeting between Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein and Ms. Kimberly Reed, President of Export -Import Bank of the United States on the sidelines of the IISS Manama Dialogue Forum 2020.

The aspects of implementing the memorandum of understanding between the mentioned bank and the Ministry of Finance that were signed in 2019 were discussed, and how to benefit from the amount allocated in the memorandum in agriculture, investment, trade and other fields.

The Minister extended an invitation to the president of the bank to visit Baghdad to discuss cooperation files between the bank and the Iraqi government.
