Foreign Minister Supports International Efforts to Restore Security and Stability in Libya

On 18 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Najla El-Mangoush, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means of joint cooperation.
H.E. affirmed Iraq’s support for international efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, and to resort to political solution to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
He stressed Iraq’s keenness to reopen the Iraqi embassy in Libya, and to play its role in activating political and diplomatic work in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries, as well as providing services and consular work to the Iraqi community residing in Libya.
For her part, the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. El-Mangoush reviewed the current situation in Libya, its stability factors, and ways to return to normal life in it, expressing Libya’s readiness to provide assistance and facilitations for the return of the work of the Iraqi embassy in Tripoli, and to overcome all difficulties in this regard.
