H.E. President of the Republic Dr. Barham Salih congratulated Sabean Mandaeans on the occasion of the Great Eid and the Mandaean New Year, on Wednesday's today, July 17, 2019.
His Excellency the President stressed, in a telegram on this occasion, the importance of promoting the values of love, brotherhood and participation among all components of Iraq and its specter, commending Sabean Mandaeans' role in building Iraq on the basis of freedom, equality and values of justice and democracy.
The following is the text of the telegram:
" It gives me great pleasure and happiness to extend to all sisters and brothers of the Sabean Mandaean the warmest congratulations and the highest blessings on the occasion of the Great Feast and the New Year of Mandaean, hoping that it will be returned to you and to our people of Iraq with good, blessing and peace.
While we are marking this happy occasion, we must recall the importance of promoting the values of love, brotherhood and participation among all components and spectrums of Iraq that have shaped strength and renaissance element to face all challenges, and to confront terrorist gangs and the deviant extremist ideas.
At a time when we value and appreciate your vital role and your active participation in building Iraq on the grounds of freedom, equality and the values of justice and democracy, we pay tribute to your contributions with your country's brothers in enriching the civilization and cultural heritage of our country.
