Appointed-Ambassador Lukman Faily and Mrs. Lameis Faily hosted a dinner at their Residence in honor of a delegation of five senior Iraqi government officials and civil society leaders visiting Washington, DC. Ambassador and Mrs. Faily were pleased to welcome Mr. Midhat Al-Mahmood, Chief Justice, Iraqi Higher Judicial Council and the accompanying delegation.

Congressman McDermott welcomed Ambassador Lukman Faily to his office where the two discussed the importance of future cooperation between Iraq and the United States.

BCIU welcomed Mr. Faily to a luncheon to discuss current and future business opportunities for Iraq and the United States.

Mr. Faily conveyed congratulations on behalf of the government and people of his country to the Iraqi pilots, who were trained in the United States, on their exceptional efforts to successfully pass the program.

Mr. Nabil Elaraby contacted Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to welcome Iraq's exit from Chapter VII sanctions and said he considers the decision an historical achievement.

"Transactional, Transitional, Transformational: Changing the Paradigm on American and Iraqi Cooperation," was organized by the Iraqi Cultural Office and the Kurdistan Regional Government Representation Office to the U.S., with support from the U.S. Department of State.
