H.E. President of the Republic Dr. Barham Salih met with the Lord Speaker of the British House of Lords Peter Norman Fowler while he was paying a visit to the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, in London, on Wednesday's today, June 26, 2019.
His Excellency the President commended UK's role and its supporting stances for the government and the people of Iraq in addressing terrorism as well as its contributing in building Iraq's cities, chiefly the liberated areas. Read more

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN, and Special Representative of the Prime Minister. During the meeting they reviewed the progress of bilateral relations between Baghdad and London and means of strengthening them to serve the interests of both countries. Read more
H.E. President Dr. Barham Salih stressed that the relations between Iraq and Kuwait have made significant strides due to the wisdom and the desire of the leaderships of the two countries to overcome the legacy of the past.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received the Russian President’s special envoy to Syria; Mr. Alexander Lavrentiev.
The two sides discussed the Iraqi-Russian relations and means of activating the results of the meeting of the joint committee between the two countries, which was held in Baghdad.
His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received this day Russian President's Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and his accompanying delegation which includes Deputy Foreign Minister, a number of officials in the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs and the Russian charge d'affaires in Baghdad, they discussed the relations between the two countries in the economic fields and strengthen the capabilities of Iraqi forces, developments in Syria and stability, The ongoing preparations for Astana Conference, In addition, they discussed the regional situation and the current crisis between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
