Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Mr. Geir Pedersen , the UN special envoy to Syria.
Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of resolving the Syrian crisis by peaceful means, and relying on dialogue in order to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis, expressing Iraq’s welcome of the initiatives that lead to ending the conflict and cease-fire, while stressing the importance of the Syrian-Syrian solution.
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with the Danish Foreign Minister Mr. Jeppe Kofod and reviewed with him the developments of the bilateral relations between the two countries and developing them in all fields, especially economic and trade, and encouraging Danish investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Iraq. Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Austrian Foreign Minister Mr. Alexander Schallenberg. The meeting discussed the resumption of the joint Iraqi-Austrian committee meetings as a framework to activate bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Vienna.

Iraq stands with its Palestinian brothers in their legitimate rights guaranteed by international legitimacy, Security Council resolutions, and their right to return to their homes and lands, and stresses that Al-Quds Al-Sharif and Al-Aqsa Mosque are still under occupation, and Arabs and Muslims should stand with them in support of their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state with its capital Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the restoration of all occupied lands to Syria and Lebanon.

The Foreign Ministry expresses its most vigorous rejection, and its condemnation of the aggression that targeted Embassy of the United States with Katyusha rockets.
While the Ministry stresses its denouncement of this violent and legally and customary condemned act, it affirms that it is most keen to preserve the sanctity of all diplomatic missions working in Iraq, that comes in compliance with the provisions of the Vienna Agreement to regulate the diplomatic relations between world countries, and out of concern for the interests of bilateral relations, and looking after maintaining the mutual interests of all. Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim gave a lecture titled (Iraqi Foreign Policy in light of the Regional and International Environment Variables) at the National Defense College at the University of Defense for Military Studies.
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad A. Alhakim met with the Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, the two sides stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and advance them to serve the interests of the peoples of the two brotherly countries. President Salih hosted a meeting of the Presidencies today into the al- Salam palace in the presence of the Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and the Speaker of Parliament Mohammed al-Halbouosi.
