The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption held its sixth session chaired by His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Prime Minister welcomed the representative of the civil society organizations that concerned with combating corruption as an observer,

US air strikes killed a leader of the Islamic State in the Iraqi city of Fallujah as US and Iraqi government forces continue a sustained attack to defeat terrorist networks.

Maher al-Bilawi, the commander of Daesh forces in Falluajh, was killed on May 25, according to the spokesperson of the US military campaign leading the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Operation Inherent Resolve army colonel Steve Warren confirmed the death of Mr al-Bilawi and more than 70 terrorists in recent air strikes.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has received The United States Institute of Peace's delegation headed by the Institute's president Nancy Lindborg.
The delegation has commended the victories achieved against Daesh's and liberation of the land of Iraq from terrorism, as well as the Government's plan to repatriate large numbers of IDP's to their liberated areas, indicating that it was an important achievement that we did not expect to be done in that flexible manner.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi congratulated the Assyrian Chaldean brothers on the occasion of the Assyrian Babylonian New Year (Akitu ), stressing his pride in the cultural and intellectual diversity of Mesopotamia, calling for the necessity of preserving it.

We received with great pain the news of the fire that spread over the historic building of the French Notre Dame Cathedral and the collapse of its historic tower.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received a phone call from the French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the call, they discussed the deployment of Iraqi forces and the imposition of the federal authority in Kirkuk, the continuing fight against terrorism and the close to liberating of all Iraqi territory, in addition to enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al- Abadi has inaugurated Today morning in Baghdad the 10th International Federation's conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for the Middle East and North Africa.
His Excellency has reaffirmed that the World in 2014 imagined that Iraq is over but we have achieved our country's strength and unity, we did defeat Daesh by our unity, the courage of the fighters and citizens.
