Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari stressed on the necessity of punishing the Zionist entity for its crimes and that the Islamic and Arab countries should rise to the level of the event. This came in a speech to the minister at the ministerial conference on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul.

President Salih hosted a meeting of the Presidencies today into the al- Salam palace in the presence of the Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and the Speaker of Parliament Mohammed al-Halbouosi.
Together, they discussed the various aspects of political and security developments in Iraq as well as the most recent evolutions regionally and globally.

"Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns and denounces the terrorist act that tried to target the Holy Shrine in Mecca. The ministry asserts Iraq's solidarity with fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against the terrorist gangs that targets its security and stability.

Such attacks reveal the deviation of the ideology of these gangs, which adopt radical terrorist approach, driving them to attack the most Holiest Shrines in Ramadan. A thing that requires exerting further efforts so as to uproot terrorism's sources of support and finance, and its ideological hotbeds."

Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi sat down with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in New York to discuss the Iraqi government’s efforts to combat ISIL and bring peace and stability to the country.

Ambassador Faily participated in two business roundtables in San Jose and San Diego, California which were organized by the Embassy of Iraq and the U.S. Arab Chamber of Commerce to facilitate dialogue about current and future business opportunities between the two countries.

Dr. Saleem al-Jabouri was in Washington for an official visit, where he met with Vice President Biden and U.S. lawmakers to discuss the U.S.-Iraqi relationship. The Speaker also delivered public remarks at the United States Institute of Peace.
