Sayyid Mohammad Baqir Al-Kashmiri, the representative of the Supreme Religious Reference (Marjaeya) in North America visited the Embassy on August 21 to congratulate Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah on the assumption of his duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the USA.

As part of ongoing efforts to professionalize Iraq’s military institutions and root out corruption, Prime Minister Al-Abadi issued executive orders to replace military commanders and assign officers to new posts within the Ministry of Defense.

Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari discussed bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States regarding to Syria during a phone call he received from U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on September 17, 2013.

The government has taken promising actions recently in Iraq to activate the coordination at the ministerial level with respect to GCC electric interconnection project so as to achieve technical stability in Iraqi electricity network & exchanging power supply.

The Council of Arab Ambassadors set up under the auspices of the Arab League Mission to the United States on Monday evening, June 20th 2016, an Iftar farewell dinner in the honor of H.E. Ambassador Luqman Faily on the occasion of ending his tenure in the United States.
