Iraqi Ambassador to the United States Lukman Faily issued the following statement in memory of the September 11 attacks:
"Fourteen years ago, the United States experienced great tragedy when terror came to its soil. Thousands lost their lives that day and the lives of all Americans were changed forever. Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and in the years since in the fight against global terror. This memory strengthens our resolve for the fight that still lies before us. As ever, we are thankful for the continued support the United States has given to help Iraq face the extremist forces currently on our soil."
