Mr. Nabil Elaraby, Secretary-General of the Arab League, contacted Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on June 29, 2013 to express the Arab League's welcoming of Iraq's exit from the provisions of Chapter VII and the new UN resolution to resolve Iraqi–Kuwaiti issues outside Chapter VII.
Mr. Nabil Elaraby said he considers the decision a major and historic achievement for relations between the two countries and congratulated the Iraqi and Kuwaiti people on this occasion.
