Foreign Minister Gives Iraq Speech in Seventh Session of Iraqi-Kuwaiti Joint Committee Meeting Held in Kuwait

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim gave Iraq’s speech at the seventh session of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Joint Committee meeting in Kuwait. Minister Alhakim highlighted the depth of brotherly relations between Baghdad and Kuwait which is growing stronger over time, calling for consolidating solidarity, joint action, stability in the two countries, and the region in general.

The joint Iraqi-Kuwaiti committee ended its work by signing a joint report containing several issues of mutual concern. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and the desire to improve relations to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

Foreign Minister Alhakim chaired the meeting from the Iraqi side, and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Hamad Al-Sabah from the Kuwaiti side, and discussed the items signed by the two sides and focused on mutual interests, investment and economic cooperation.

The Committee culminated in the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding in a variety of areas, including air transport, double taxation, sports, standardization and quality control , that reflect the keenness of the two countries to advance common relations to greater horizons and improve the brotherly and distinguished relations that unite the two brotherly peoples.
