Foreign Minister Mohamed A. Alhakim received on Thursday 25/10/2018 a telephone call from US Secretary of State Mr. Mike Pompeo on the occasion of assuming duties of Foreign Ministry in the elected Iraqi Government.
Mr. Pompeo expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will witness further development and prosperity in all fields.
On his part, Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of developing relations between the two countries, praising the important and vital role played by the US in supporting Iraq in countering terrorism during the past period and thanked his American counterpart for his contact.
