H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi receives the heads of the Christian denominations

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi has received, in his office today on Wednesday, the heads of the Christian denominations.
His Excellency has congratulated them on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, wishing everyone a year of love and peace, stressing the government's care for all citizens regardless of their religious or political affiliation,
He has said that all Iraqis are equal in rights and duties; we are seeking to deepen this understanding in all segments of society, including our security forces in all areas of Iraq, especially liberated areas.
Dr. Haider al-Abadi has pointed to the need to preserve religious and sectarian diversity because it is the identity of Iraq and the source of its strength, noting that terrorism tried to erase this identity, but it did fail because of our nation unity.
His Excellency has added that we have achieved victory against Daesh; we will work with utmost force to bring back displaced Christian citizens to their areas and provide security for them as well as the rest of the displaced.
Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has pointed to the responsibility of Muslim and Christian clerics to establish security by strengthening the spirit of faith, justice and unity among citizens, directing them to the right path and working to develop the spirit of peaceful coexistence among Iraqi factions, which achieves another victory against terrorist ideology and thwart its goal.
The heads of the Christian denominations have thanked Dr. Haider al-Abadi, blessed the great victories achieved against Daesh, liberation of the entire Iraqi territory, the unifying of the Iraqi people and the New Year.
His Excellency has listened to the heads of the Christian denominations remarks, the proposals on the issues of the displaced, liberated areas in general and Christian citizens in particular.
