President Barham Salih received a delegation representing the World Bank headed by Dr. Merza Hasan the Dean of the Board and Executive Director of the Bank Group and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Office on Tuesday January 29, 2019.
The President expressed Iraq's desire to optimally cooperate with the World Bank in various fields in a way that achieves prosperity and progress of the country.
His Excellency indicated the need to enhance employment opportunities and investment in the field of projects as well as economic and social development.
President Salih commended the support of the World Bank for Iraq to create an effective partnership with the Iraqi financial institutions by increasing areas of better investment of resources and capacities.
For his part, the Head of the delegation asserted the support of the World Bank for the Iraqi economy, expressing the desire to expand the horizon of cooperation in all areas.
