The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
At the beginning of the meeting, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo welcomed the Parliament Speaker and expressed his pleasure to meet him and to the development of relations and communication between Washington and Baghdad.
The meeting discussed means of boosting cooperation between the two countries in the security, military and economic fields, the strategic partnership between the United States and Iraq, continuing efforts in combating terrorism and its extremist ideology, the border security file, defeating ISIS and preventing its return, and reaffirming the commitment to the sovereignty, security and prosperity of Iraq.
The meeting touched on the need for the efforts of the international community in the file of reconstruction and investment and supporting the Iraqi government to provide services to citizens to provide employment through investment projects to eliminate unemployment, which would contribute to the restoration of stability.
