Foreign Minister Meets his Cypriot Counterpart Mr. Nikos Christodoulides

Minister Alhakim stressed the need to expedite the process of appointing the Ambassador of Iraq to the Republic of Cyprus, and called for the convening of the quartet meeting of foreign ministers: Iraq, Jordan, Greece and Cyprus; in line with what was agreed at the tripartite summit held in Amman on 14/4/2019, Minister Alhakim pointed to the importance of the World Conference on Reconstruction and Development in Iraq scheduled to be held in Nicosia from 6-12 12/2019.
In the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries, the Minister stressed on the activation of mutual visits at high level, and called on investment companies to work in Iraq, especially as it represents a fertile investment environment, especially in the field of reconstruction, housing and infrastructure, the two sides agreed on bilateral economic cooperation based on agreement or a memorandum of understanding.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Cypriot Foreign Minister Mr.Nikos Christodoulides on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The two sides discussed enhancing joint cooperation and issues of common concern.
