His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received this day, a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
His Excellency Prime Minister confirmed the serious desire to strengthen bilateral relations, strengthen Iraq's relations with its neighbors, friends, respect its sovereignty and independence. His Excellency explained the Iraqi government's determination to continue its approach in dealing positively with demonstrations, emphasizing their peacefulness and protection by security forces to achieve the demands in accordance with the constitution and the law.
The Secretary of State confirmed the support of the United States of America to His Excellency Prime Minister and the Iraqi government, the desire to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in accordance with the Agreement of the Strategic Framework and help Iraq to enhance its security and stability and not interfere with its internal affairs, He stressed the right to demonstrate peacefully under the Iraqi democratic system and to support Iraqi security forces.
