Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received Mr. Karim Khan the Special Adviser and Head of the United Nations Investigation Team for the accountability for crimes committed by Da’esh.

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed including, exchanging views on ways to enhance joint cooperation, maintaining contact with the adviser and his team in light of respect for Iraqi sovereignty, and the competence of the Iraqi judiciary to collect evidence to contribute to accountability of those involved, and to uncover and document the crimes of Da’esh.

His Excellency Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, represented Iraq at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received a phone call from the new British Foreign Secretary Mr. Dominic Raab.
Mr. Alhakim congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment as UK Foreign Secretary.
The two ministers discussed ways of enhancing cooperation in various fields, especially security and intelligence coordination and efforts to combat terrorism, and serve common interests Of the two friendly countries.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim gave the opening speech at the first session of the Ministerial Council at its 152nd regular session at the level of Foreign Ministers.
Minister Alhakim’s speech included an update on the situation in the Arab region, including: Iraq’s urging Arab and regional countries and the international community to support the new Sudanese government to achieve stability and maintain the unity of Sudan, stressing the continuation of support for the Palestinian issue, raising the momentum for demanding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and... Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad A. Alhakim met with the Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, the two sides stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and advance them to serve the interests of the peoples of the two brotherly countries. They also discussed the most important regional and international issues of common concern.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim Ali met with Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Baghdad Mr. Zhang Tao.
Minister Alhakim praised the efforts of the Ambassador in supporting Iraqi-Chinese relations, expressing his hope that the relations will reach advanced stages of strategic nature in a manner that meets the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, and achieve their common interests in progress, prosperity, and development.

The Foreign Minister held an emergency meeting in which the Ministry’s Undersecretaries, Advisors, and Official Spokesman attend to discuss measures regarding the recent U.S aggression, and directed the summoning the Ambassadors of the United States and UK to Baghdad.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein delivered the speech of Iraq at the high-level session of the Conference on Disarmament, which was held virtually on 22/2/2021, in which he affirmed the Iraqi government’s adherence to disarmament and non-proliferation agreements and treaties, believing that universal accession to international agreements related to weapons of mass destruction and universal compliance with them without discrimination, and the elimination of these weapons is one of the main pillars that promote global peace and stability, noting that the spread of the Corona virus pandemic...
