Iraqis living in the United States cast their ballots in seven states to elect their representatives in the Iraqi parliament.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Mr. Mukdad al Sharify confirmed on April 27, 2014 that the UNHCR offices oversees opened 103 polling stations around the world to allow Iraqis living abroad to vote.

We extend our deep condolences to the Iraqi people and the Christian Brothers in particular for the death of Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly. We will always remember his call for peace, love and national unity for all Iraqis.

The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission has announced the polling stations in the United States to serve Iraqi voters in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Ambassador Faily joined the morning news program to discuss current conditions in Iraq after U.S. military withdrawl and also spoke about Iraq's upcoming elections.

SEATTLE, March 25, 2014 -- Ambassador Faily participated in a ceremony at the headquarters of the Seattle-based company, Boeing, marking the delivery of the third Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft to Iraqi Airways. The ceremony included a high-level delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation and the Iraqi commercial attaché to the United States.

H.E. promised continued support for local agencies throughout the reconstruction process and praised local security forces for their bravery in fighting Al-Qaeda insurgents.

The Government of Iraq today steadfastly denied that it has signed any contracts to buy military weapons, ammunition or other military equipment from Iran, as alleged in some recent news reports. In a statement, Iraq’s Ministry of Defense explained that numerous international firms, including Iran’s Defense Industries Organization, recently submitted offers to provide Iraq with military hardware, but the proposal from Iran was rejected.
