As part of the U.S.-Iraq Business Initiative, the United States Chamber of Commerce welcomed Ambassador Faily for an event that fostered discussions of the enormous trade investment opportunities that exist between Iraq and the U.S.

Ambassador Faily paid his respects to American and Iraqi military personnel who fought to achieve freedom in Iraq.

On behalf of the government and people of Iraq, Ambassador Faily wishes the Muslim world and Arabic and Islamic communities living in the U.S. prosperity and blessings.

July 4, 2013 -- The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, DC congratulates the American people and government on the occasion of Independence Day and wishes the American people further progress and prosperity.

"Transactional, Transitional, Transformational: Changing the Paradigm on American and Iraqi Cooperation," was organized by the Iraqi Cultural Office and the Kurdistan Regional Government Representation Office to the U.S., with support from the U.S. Department of State.

Mr. Nabil Elaraby contacted Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to welcome Iraq's exit from Chapter VII sanctions and said he considers the decision an historical achievement.

Mr. Faily conveyed congratulations on behalf of the government and people of his country to the Iraqi pilots, who were trained in the United States, on their exceptional efforts to successfully pass the program.

BCIU welcomed Mr. Faily to a luncheon to discuss current and future business opportunities for Iraq and the United States.

Congressman McDermott welcomed Ambassador Lukman Faily to his office where the two discussed the importance of future cooperation between Iraq and the United States.
