President Salih hosted a meeting of the Presidencies today into the al- Salam palace in the presence of the Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and the Speaker of Parliament Mohammed al-Halbouosi.
Together, they discussed the various aspects of political and security developments in Iraq as well as the most recent evolutions regionally and globally.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and its employees extends its most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragic fire that occurred 24th of April 2021, at Baghdad’s Ibn AL khatib Hospital.


We ask God Almighty, during these blessed days of the holy month of Ramadan, to have mercy on the souls of the innocent martyrs, grant patience and solace for their families and loved ones, and a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured.

President Salih announced that, unwillingness of the voters to participate in the elections anymore is a clear evidence of necessity to amend the General Election Law as it is an urgent national entitlement to build the Iraqi State, to reform its institutions as well as eradicating the financial and administrative corruption so as to promote freedom and democracy across the country.

Mr. Nabil Elaraby contacted Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to welcome Iraq's exit from Chapter VII sanctions and said he considers the decision an historical achievement.

Foreign Minister Dr.Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Foreign Minister of the republic of Syria Mr. Walid Al-Muallem on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. They reviewed the issues of common interest, affirming the necessity of combining efforts and cooperation to enhance security and stability of the region and defeat terrorism.

Mr. Al-Muallem officially invited Dr. Al-Jaafari to visit Damascus in the framework of opening new horizons for joint cooperation.

After your brothers in the armed forces were able to militarily defeat ISIS and eradicate its presence from the Iraq regions, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service today completes this achievement with a qualitative intelligence victory that overthrew the terrorist leader of ISIS in light of joint intelligence follow-up and direct guidance by the Prime Minister and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
