Ambassador Faily sat down with Voice of America last week to discuss the latest developments in Iraq. He discussed the ongoing situation in Anbar and disputed the prevailing sectarian narrative, noting the Iraqi government's "evenhanded" approach to tackling extremist groups throughout the country.

Ambassador Faily stressed that Iraq and the United States were cooperating at the highest levels to ensure that Iraq is equipped to fight Al-Qaeda militants. He highlighted aspects of the strategic partnership including cooperation on counter-terrorism and technology-transfer.

Iraqi Ambassador to the United States Lukman Faily today responded to security developments in Iraq, including terrorist gains in some critical areas of Mosul, and highlighted new directives approved by Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and his Cabinet to address the ongoing crisis.

The conference, hosted by the U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, took place August 20-22, 2013 at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island and included leaders from the corporate community and others interested in promoting economic relationships between Arab countries and the United States.

"The Enemy of My Enemy: An Uneasy Coalition and the Threat of ISIS" at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC discussed geo-strategic implications of the rise of ISIS.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security welcomed the Ambassador of Iraq, His Excellency Lukman Faily, at a roundtable discussion with fellow ambassadors from Chile, Czech Republic, Morocco and Singapore to discuss diplomacy beyond the nation-state with regards to the 2015 QDDR (Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review). Joining them in the discussion chaired by Atlantic Council President & CEO, Frederick Kempe was Hon. Paula Dobriansky and the Special Representative for the QDDR, Hon. Thomas Perriello.

While in California, Ambassador Faily met with members of the World Affairs Council and RAND Corporation to discuss issues facing Iraq and the region and further discuss the bilateral relationship between Iraq and the U.S.

General John Allen, Ambassador Faily and Daniel Glaser participated in a panel, "Iraq/Syria: Worse Now Than Before?" during the Aspen Security Forum conference.

In an interview with Diplomatic Courier, Ambassador Faily also expressed his optimism about Iraq’s future in clean energy and the economy.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen TV, Ambassador Faily discussed the US-Iraq relationship and the current situation in Iraq.
