University of Arkansas signs its third Iraqi school dealFor the third time within the past 11 months, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville has signed a cooperative agreement with an Iraqi university. In a formal agreement announced Thursday, UA and the University of Sulaimani will "work to create programs for exchanging academic, research and other educational materials," the announcement from UA states. The agreement also calls for the development of opportunities for the Iraqi university to send students to UA. |

Japan donates $90m for Iraqi refugeesERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Japan has given an estimated $90 million to a United Nation's campaign to help displaced Iraqis, becoming the program's main contributor, the UN said on Friday. The program, called UN-Habitat, promotes socially and environmentally secure places for displaced people in crisis. “It is to enhance self-reliance and improve their living conditions through the provision of prefabricated durable shelters and basic services in Baghdad, Duhok and Karbala province,” the UN-Habitat announced in a statement. |

Britain boosts Iraq military trainers to combat Islamic StateThe United Kingdom will send an additional 125 military trainers to Iraq to counter the rising threat from the Islamic State, Prime Minister David Cameron said Sunday at the G-7 summit. The prime minister's office said the military personnel were being provided at the request of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. US-Iraqi Youth Institute Holds Conference On PeaceMembers and affiliates of the US-Iraqi Youth Institute with a host of community leaders and politicians met at Greenfield Manor on June 5, 2015 for the Iraqi American Peace Conference. This year’s theme was ISIS: Terrorism Against Childhood.
