The text of the two identical letters that the Foreign Ministry sent to the United Nations and the Security Council regarding the US bombing of the Iraqi forces

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo on 6/2/2021 to attend the emergency ministerial meeting of the Arab League, which was called by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss developments in the region, and how to deal with the new administration’s policy in Washington, as well as studying and addressing some issues related to the structure and functioning of the League of Arab States.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi on his assumption of the position of Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq.

Iraq is concerned with the receipt of Da’esh terrorists who hold Iraqi citizenship and their families. They will be tried in Iraqi courts according to the laws in force.
Iraq is not concerned with foreign terrorists who have carried out terrorist operations outside Iraq, and their countries must deal with them.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Mr. Christos Stylianides on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and reviewed the overall political situation in Iraq and the formation of the new government. .

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received EU Ambassador to Baghdad Mr. Ramon Blecua on the occasion of ending his duties in Baghdad.

Minister Alhakim praised the qualitative progress in relations with the European Union, stressing the importance of strengthening it to serve common interests and opening the prospects of cooperation in various fields in addition to benefiting from European experiences, expressing his wishes for the Ambassador’s success in his future diplomatic missions.

Foreign Minister Excellency Mohamed A. Alhakim received a phone call from his Turkish counterpart Excellency Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu congratulating him on his role as Foreign Minister in the new Iraqi government, stressing Turkey's keenness to develop bilateral relations and his readiness to cooperate fully with Minister Alhakim.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim participated today in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the extraordinary ministerial level through video conferencing.
The Minister gave the speech of Iraq, stressing that the challenge facing our Arab nation and the Palestinian issue is not less dangerous than the global challenge posed by the Coronavirus,
considering that the repetition of the aggressive tendencies of the usurped Israeli entity supported by US to procrastinate legitimate and inalienable Palestinian rights.

Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein delivered the speech of the Republic of Iraq at the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers held on 15 June 2021 in Doha, in which he emphasized Iraqi government’s efforts to prepare for a meeting aiming at alleviating the situation in the region, which would positively effect the internal situaion in Iraq, with the participation of all neighboring countries, Arab and Islamic countries, in addition to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
