Foreign Minister Arrives in Doha to Attend Two Consultative and Emergency Meetings of Arab Foreign Ministers

On 14 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein arrived in Doha, to attend two consultative and emergency meetings of Arab foreign ministers.

It is worth noting that the meeting came upon the request of the host State of Qatar due to its presidency of the current session of the Arab League Council, and that the meeting will discuss various Arab issues, primarily the Palestinian cause and its recent developments, making peace frameworks in the Gaza Strip, and the developments of the Renaissance Dam issue.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry regrets the statement by the United States Administration on the discontinuation of its financial assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which is a major disappointment for the peace efforts sought by world's nations and humanitarian organizations to bring justice to the heroic Palestinian people, to resolve their just cause and to end the unjust violation.

Foreign Minister Meets Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland

Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from his Egyptian Counterpart

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received a phone call from Egyptian Foreign Minister Mr. Sameh Shoukry. The two sides discussed the most important issues at the local level, and the necessity of activating the common interests between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to continue consultations and bilateral coordination on Arab and regional issues in order to find political approaches that contribute to defusing tensions and maintaining the security of the region.

Foreign Minister Participates in Meeting of Council of League of Arab States at Ministerial Level in its Extraordinary Session

MOFA Condemns Terrorist attack in Damascus, Reiterating Solidarity with Fraternal Syria

"Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the terrorist attack carried by criminal gangs in Tahrir square, eastern Damascus. The ministry reiterates Iraq's solidarity with fraternal Syria against all takfiri gangs, e. g. the defeated gangs of Da'esh.
