On 11 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Hussein held a virtual video conference with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in which he talked about the cooperation between Iraq and NATO and the latter’s training mission in Iraq.
For his part, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary-General, focused on discussions of the long-standing political and military dialogue between NATO and Iraqi officials, including his regular contacts with the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and Foreign Minister Mr. Hussein.

The ministry of foreign affairs condemns the terrorist attack conducted by the terrorists group targeting the capital of Damascus. Such terrorist attacks target to undermine the international efforts to prevail peace and finishes the crisis in Syria. The ministry reaffirm again that the solution must be political for the sake of united peaceful Syria empty of terror.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim attended on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi the funeral service set up by the UAE for the diplomat and politician Dr. Adnan Al-Pachachi.

Foeign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met on Tuesday 10/8/2021 his counterpart Mohammed Javad Zarif in Tehran.

The Minister expressed his desire to work to support and strengthen relations between Baghdad and Tehran in a way that reflects their depth, stressing his keenness to maintain bilateral cooperation in various fields in the next stage to achieve the common interests of the two countries, and to activate the memorandums of understanding agreed upon with the Iraqi government.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares the de-listing of Iraq from the European Union’s list of high- risks countries in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism.

This came in a letter delivered by the European Commission mission on 9/1/2022 to the Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi, in which it congratulated Iraq on the great measures and efforts that have been taken to improve the anti-money laundering system and combat the financing of terrorism.

On the sideline of his visit to Rome, Minister of Foreign Affairs met Head of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Mr José Graziano da Silva.

During the meeting, they reviewed the work of the organization and efforts exerted by international organizations in the provision of the necessary supplies to support Iraq in its war against the terrorist gangs of Da'esh.

Foreign Minister Mohamed A. Al-hakim received on Thursday 25/10/2018 a telephone call from Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Mr. Safadi congratulated the minister on the occasion of assuming the duties of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, expressing his hope for further efforts to consolidate the ties of friendship and brotherhood and to strengthen the cooperation relations between the two countries.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is surprised by the statement issued by US State Department Spokesman Heather Naort, in where he described Deputy Chairman of popular mobilization Mr. Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis as a terrorist.

"We confirm that the Popular mobilization body is an inseparable part of the Iraqi forces that are under the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and that they fought bravely beside the other forces.
