The Joint Coordination Committee on Energy between the US and Iraq met in Baghdad to discuss Iraq’s future energy development and the formation of a new working group to protect Iraq’s energy infrastructure.

Esper, They discussed bilateral between the two countries, reaffirming the continuation of cooperation in countering terrorism, supporting the government's efforts to promote security, stability and national sovereignty, Besides discussing the disturbing developments in Syria, especially with regard to terrorists imprisoned in Syria and the possibility of their escape and infiltration into Iraqi territory

The Foreign Ministry affirms Iraq's keenness on the security of its neighbors and its refusal to use its territory to threaten the security of those countries. It rejects the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by bombing any target within Iraqi territory without prior coordination with the Iraqi authorities to spare civilians the effects of such operations.

The Independent High Electoral Commission announced the possibility of opening polling centers in 13 countries including the United States, allowing Iraqi citizens abroad the opportunity to cast their votes in the 2014 parliamentary elections.

President Salih received Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in New York City today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
During the meeting, both presidents discussed further securing bilateral relations, as well as the importance of improving and broadening mutual cooperation in all relevant fields as befits two friendly nations.
Together, they also reviewed recent political and security developments in the region and around the world.
