Foreign Minister Meets US Assistant Secretary of State Mr. David Schenker

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with US Assistant of State Mr. David Schenker during which they discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington and the importance of continuing to work for the common interests of both countries.

President Receives Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq

President Barham Salih welcomed Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Iraq, to the Presidential Office in Baghdad today.
The President emphasized the international organization’s critical role in Iraq, citing efforts the UN has made to support the democratic process across the country as well as highlighting the importance of Iraq as a potential trusted actor that could help reduce regional tension and consolidate international peace and security.

The Foreign Minister Receives Telephone Call from his British Counterpart

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received a phone call from the new British Foreign Secretary Mr. Dominic Raab.
Mr. Alhakim congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment as UK Foreign Secretary.

Iraq will take part in the talks in Astana on Thursday, which is one of the important paths of dialogue between the parties of the Syrian-Syrian conflict, which could lead to an end to the violence in the country and bring positive results.
