Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim participated in the 6th Istanbul Mediation Conference which is taking place in Turkey with the participation of representatives from different countries of the world.

The conference will discuss mediation, efforts to resolve disputes through peaceful means, and prepare guidelines . In addition, experts, researchers and academics from around the world will seek ways to promote the use of mediation as an important means of preventing conflicts and finding solutions through diplomacy.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim Ali participated in the Climate Summit in the Iraqi delegation headed by the President of the Republic Dr. Barham Saleh.
The Summit took place at United Nations Headquarters in New York, and aims to mobilize support for an international agreement on climate change, and work on the ground in all sectors and discuss national action.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim participated today in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the extraordinary ministerial level through video conferencing.
The Minister gave the speech of Iraq, stressing that the challenge facing our Arab nation and the Palestinian issue is not less dangerous than the global challenge posed by the Coronavirus,
considering that the repetition of the aggressive tendencies of the usurped Israeli entity supported by US to procrastinate legitimate and inalienable Palestinian rights.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim will participate in the 151st regular Session of the Council of the League of Arab States which is scheduled to take place in Cairo on the 6th of March.

It is hoped that his Excellency will meet with several of his counterparts in the framework of discussing bilateral relations and deliberating on regional and international issues of common concern.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim participated in the troika meeting with both his counterparts from Sudan and Somalia, on the sidelines of the Arab Summit meetings at the level of Arab foreign ministers in Tunisia.

oreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein made a phone call with his counterpart, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Muhammad Javad Zarif, expressing his sincere condolences following the assassination of the Iranian scientist Mr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, expressing condemnation of these actions that do not contribute to supporting stability.

The two sides also discussed developments in the region, and its implications for regional and international security

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from German Foreign Minister Mr. Heiko Maas.
The conversation focused on bilateral relations and ties between the two countries, and on the initial decision of the US administration to withdraw the embassy from Baghdad.

Minister Fuad Hussein expressed concern about this decision, despite it being a sovereign decision by the US side, but it may lead to results that are not in the interest of the Iraqi people.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mr. Micheal Pompeo on Friday evening, 2/10/2020, and the conversation focused on the bilateral relations and ties between the two countries, and the US administration’s initial decision to withdraw the embassy from Baghdad.

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from Mr. Ayman Al-Safadi, Jordanian Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister in which he congratulated him on his assumption of the task of Iraq’s Foreign Minister, and expressed his hope to expand efforts and work to consolidate the bonds of friendship and brotherhood and to enhance the distinguished cooperation relations existing between the two countries.
