Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the US President’s envoy to Syria Mr. Joel Rayburn. In the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis. The Minister expressed the Iraqi government’s interest in ending the ongoing conflict in Syria, resolving the issue of the displaced, and creating a safe environment for the return of the displaced to their areas of residence.

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, handed over antiquities to the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nadhem. The antiquities which had been smuggled from Iraq were reclaimed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from several countries through coordination with the Iraqi embassies in those countries.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim took part in the meeting of Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms. Audrey Azoulay with the official delegation of His Excellency Dr. Barham Salih on 25th of February 2019.

The Foreign Ministry through the efforts of our embassies deployed throughout the countries of the world, and with high efforts of the Crisis Cell and the Protocol Department at the Ministry since the start of the ban and closure procedures, and the suspension of flights have worked hard to transport Iraqis stranded in more than (22) countries, returned about (16041) citizens, by (81) air flights , (3) land trips in coordination with the Iraqi Airways , the Civil Aviation Authority, and the concerned authorities in the workplaces of our diplomatic and consular missions.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Swiss Foreign Minister Mr. Ignazio Cassis on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly 74th session.
The meeting touched on the relations between the two countries and the prospects of further strengthening them in different fields in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two friendly people for development and prosperity.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received French Foreign Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian.

The two Ministers discussed developing bilateral relations in various fields, activating the strategic understanding document for bilateral relations, and ways to enhance consultation and coordination between Baghdad and Paris.

Minister Alhakim stressed Iraq’s keenness to develop the distinguished level of relations with France, and looks forward to exploring new prospects for cooperation, especially in the field of economy.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Mr. Sameh Shoukry on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference / Session (56).

The two sides discussed the importance of activating security and intelligence cooperation, and exchanging information between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Soini on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Da’esh held in Washington.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common concern.
