Foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari and the Russian vice president Mr. Demitry Roghozen headed the mutual Iraqi- Russian committee in Moscow, preparing to hold the seventh session of the committee activities on 2018.

Both sides reviewed the bilateral Iraqi- Russian economic, commercial relations, and continue working on developing the legal and Regulatory basis for the bilateral cooperation between both countries, I addition to discussing the developed cooperation in industry and increasing the efforts in developing the cooperation in Oil and Gas.

His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received a phone call on May 25, 2015 from United States Vice President Mr. Joe Biden. Prime Minister Al-Abadi and Vice President Biden discussed increasing support and training for Iraqi forces, intensifying air strikes, and expediting armament to the Iraqi forces. The Joint Coordination Committee on Energy between the US and Iraq met in Baghdad to discuss Iraq’s future energy development and the formation of a new working group to protect Iraq’s energy infrastructure.

The Deputy Chair of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to Washington DC and the Vice President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa signed, at the headquarters of the Bank in Washington DC, on Tuesday 20th December, 2016 two loans, first of which is at the value of ( $ 1 billion , 443, 820,000 ) to support the Iraqi investment policy, and the second is at the value of ( $ 41 million , 500, 000) to finance public projects.

Into the Presidential Palace in Baghdad today, holding a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, President Salih stressed the importance of continuous coordination and joint work which would avert Iraq and the region the conflicts and the war. We don't want our territory to be a staging post for any hostile action against any of our neighbors, or be as a battleground for a proxy-war, he added.

President Salih expressed his deep condolences and sympathy to the families of those lost and injured during a stampede in Karbala today.
His Excellency called on all Iraqis to care for the families of those affected by this tragic incident.
