On November 19, 2013, Ambassador Faily spoke at an off-the-record roundtable event at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Washington, DC, on US-Iraq security cooperation in light of regional transformations.
Guests at the roundtable included US government officials, academics and business leaders.
Ambassador Faily touched on Iraq’s security challenges and the affect the turmoil in Syria presents to Iraq. The Ambassador also presented an assessment of Prime Minister Maliki’s recent visit to Washington.
The Ambassador answered questions on a range of issues related to the current situation in Iraq and the status of relations between Iraq, its neighbors and the United States.
