Foreign Minister Meets Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Adil Al-Jubeir on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Da'esh held in Washington.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, the overall developments in the region and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields and overcome the challenges particularly, cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism.

Minister Alhakim stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Riyadh, and intensify cooperation and coordinate developments on the regional and international arenas.

Minister Alhakim stressed the need to open prospects of economic cooperation and development between the two countries, and to continue consultations and contacts between the two brotherly countries to protect the region from dangers that could harm the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

On his part, the Saudi minister praised the relationship between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and the latest developments of the fruitful cooperation between the two countries, and their importance in maintaining security and stability in the region.
