Foreign Minister Meets with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri in Beirut

Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Lebanese Prime Minister Mr. Saad Al-Hariri in Beirut, and discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and discussed efforts to accelerate the formation of the government in Iraq and Lebanon In addition to discussing the developments on Arab, regional and international levels.

Dr. Al-Jaafari stressed Iraq's efforts to develop relations in various political, economic and security fields to strengthen the historic ties between the two brotherly peoples, calling for more coordination to facilitate the procedures for granting visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Beirut which will open new horizons for joint cooperation, noting: that Iraq has defeated Daesh terrorist gangs. And calls on Lebanese companies to invest, and contribute to support Iraq in the reconstruction expressing the value for the support of Iraq in the Arab and international forums, and to continue political consultations; to maintain the security and stability of the region.

On his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister Mr. Saad Al-Hariri stressed the keenness of his country to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in various fields, looking forward to work on the establishment of a joint economic council to contribute to the economic relations between the two countries during the coming period, revealing his intention to visit Iraq after the formation of the governments of the two countries; Which support bilateral relations and serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
