The Iraqi and Iranian Ministers of Foreign Affairs discus on the phone the developments of situations in the Region and they confirm the necessity to make efforts to end the war in Yemen

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fuad Hussain has discussed the developments of situations in the region, such as the security situation in the Gulf region and Yemen and the danger of escalation and deepening crises, Mr. Hussain confirmed that the stability of the region means the stability of Iraq, Therefore “we are ready to do our best and to work with the countries of the region to stop violence”. This was during a phone call received by Mr. Hussain from his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hussain Ameer Abdulhaian.

The two sides talked about some sensitive issues in the region. The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed to his Iraqi counterpart on the latest developments of the current negotiations in Vienna with USA and the other concerned states, concerning the nuclear program, hinting, that there are steps that can be considered positive in this regard.

On his part, The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs has expressed his happiness for the continuity of the negotiation, wishing them to reach the final agreement in order to meet the region interest and stability and its reflection on the World Peace.

On another aspect, they talked about the security condition in the Gulf Region and Yemen and the danger of escalation and deepening crises. Mr. Hussain confirmed that stability of the region means the stability of Iraq, Therefore “we are ready to do our best and to work with the countries of the region to stop violence”.

The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs referred to the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia Kingdom and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its developments in certain scopes. The two sides confirmed the necessity of continuing the talks, which had started in Baghdad and reached the fourth session. They also discussed the tripartite cooperation (Iraqi-Saudi-Iranian) to start the Fifth session of the talks.

In the field of bilateral relations, the two sides touched upon the different bilateral issues, and the two Ministers agreed to hold a meeting in Tehran soon.
