The U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted a farewell reception on Thursday May 26th 2013 honoring His Excellency Lukman Faily Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United State. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Iraq Director expressed his appreciation for the support of H.E. Ambassador Faily in developing the business partnership of both countries. The event included a farewell speech from H.E. Ambassador Faily to the business community upon ending his tenure by thanking the support of the chamber and its members, confirming that Iraq will continue to welcome U.S.

Dr. Sami Al- Araji, NIC Chairman signed on the 13th of Feb.17 the affiliation of Iraq to the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration (for the year 2014) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Iraq is the second Arab country that affiliates to the convention preceded by 18 international members.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah met with a group of members of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom at the Embassy’s building. The Ambassador reviewed the course of political action in Iraq and affirmed the Iraq government’s commitment to achieving the interests of its people of all sects and respecting their human rights, in accordance with what is stipulated in the Iraqi Constitution, which guarantees peaceful coexistence.
