THE PRESIDENT RECEIVES AN INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARAB - EUROPEAN SUMMIT

President Barham Salih received Mr. Alaa Mousa the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
His Excellency received an official invitation from his Egyptian counterpart His Excellency Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to attend the Arab-European summit due to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh at the end of this month.
The President asked Ambassador Mousa to convey his greetings to his brother H.E. President el-Sisi, expressing his gratitude for this kind invitation.

On Monday, October 18, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih congratulated Iraqi people on the Occasion of the Prophet Mohammad birthday.
It is of great occasion to inspire the noble values and to learn the lessons that should be taken from fragrant biography of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in making peace, fraternity and brotherhood among human beings, Iraqi President Salih said.
Iraq is going through a critical juncture, and enormous challenges and major national tasks are still ahead of us, he underscored.

The President Mourns with Victims of Anfal Genocide

President Salih met today with dozens of family members who lost loved ones during the infamous Anfal genocide of the 1980s.

Taking care to listen to all their concerns in the Al Salam Palace in Baghdad, the President stated clearly that this violence was a genocidal act aimed at the Kurdish people and will forever be a wound that is never fully healed in the hearts of all Iraqis. His Excellency lauded the prestigious status of the deceased and her distinguished efforts in the field of archeology.

THE PRESIDENT MEETS WITH NATO SECRETARY GENERAL, JENS STOLTENBERG

President Salih received today at his residence in Davos NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg. The two leaders discussed the last decision of the Council of Representatives on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq, stressed the importance of respecting Iraq's sovereignty and its independent decision.
Developments of the security situation, in addition to the necessity of uprooting terrorism and supporting security and stability in Iraq and the region, have been reviewed by the two sides.
