The Crisis Cell at the Foreign Ministry held a meeting to discuss procedures for facilitating the return of Iraqi citizens stranded in a number of countries, in cooperation with our missions abroad and in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority. Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with the UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict, Ms. Pramila Patten, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting reviewed the overall situation in Iraq and the efforts made by international organizations to support Iraq in various fields.

Mohamed Ali Hakim, the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations and Mansour Al-Otaibi, Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations, presented a copy of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon on June 12, 2013.

Minister Alhakim stressed that Iraq is evaluating its relations with all countries of the world according to the principle of common interests and facing common risks, expressing Baghdad’s aspiration to enhance ways of cooperation between the two countries, calling on Norwegian companies to invest in Iraq, noting: that Iraq has promising investment opportunities.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim chaired the emergency meeting of the League of Arab States Council at the ministerial level to discuss the so-called (Deal of the Century) announced by US President Trump.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim held a telephone conversation with appointed Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Minister Alhakim expressed his congratulations on his appointment as Prime Minister of Kuwait, wishing him success in serving Kuwait and its brotherly people.

The Foreign Ministry denounces the raising of the European Union Mission and other foreign missions operating in Iraq of the flag of homosexuality in its headquarters for its violation of the high moral principles and values ​​respected by all divine religions in addition to its contradiction with the values, morals and social norms of our country and its provocation of sacred religious feelings and significance.
