THE PRESIDENT RECEIVES MEMBER OF THE BRITISH HOUSE OF LORDS

President Salih received today in Baghdad Member of the British House of Lords and Executive Head of the Iraqi-British Trade Council, Baroness Ema Nichelson.
Together, the President and the Baroness discussed the international support to boost security and stability across the country. Furthermore, they reviewed political developments at the region and the world as well.

President Receives Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq

President Barham Salih welcomed Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Iraq, to the Presidential Office in Baghdad today.
The President emphasized the international organization’s critical role in Iraq, citing efforts the UN has made to support the democratic process across the country as well as highlighting the importance of Iraq as a potential trusted actor that could help reduce regional tension and consolidate international peace and security.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Receives Delegation from Baker Hughes in Washington

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the American company Baker Hughes at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, they discussed the company`s operations in Iraq in the oil and gas sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that gas projects are a priority for the government to meet the needs of power stations and to stop the environmental damage caused by gas flaring. He encouraged the company to contribute to establishing a chemical plant for materials used in drilling and oil extraction processes.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq deeply mourns the death of the Iraqi F-16 pilot Rasid Hasan, after his plane crashed during a training mission at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.

Brigadier General Hasan's dedication to serving his country will continue to be honored and remembered among our nation.

May Allah rest his soul in peace and give his family and loved ones strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Foreign Minister Supports International Efforts to Restore Security and Stability in Libya

On 18 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Najla El-Mangoush, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means of joint cooperation.
H.E. affirmed Iraq’s support for international efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, and to resort to political solution to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
