The Council of Arab Ambassadors set up under the auspices of the Arab League Mission to the United States on Monday evening, June 20th 2016, an Iftar farewell dinner in the honor of H.E. Ambassador Luqman Faily on the occasion of ending his tenure in the United States. The ceremony was attended by ambassadors and representatives of Arab diplomatic missions commissioned to Washington D.C.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah welcomed the Emir of Yazidis at the Embassy during his visit to Washington DC; they explored opportunities to enhance cooperation with the Embassy and expand support opportunities to the Yazidi community residing in USA. The Ambassador expressed his great interest in providing facilities and support for the Yazidi community members. ….

In an interview with Al Mayadeen TV, Ambassador Faily discussed the US-Iraq relationship and the current situation in Iraq.

His Excellency highlighted the importance of developing security and military cooperation between the two friendly countries as well as the US contribution to arming and improving the military capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.

Ambassador Faily participated in the opening ceremony of the Iraqi National Jewish Archive special exhibition “Discovery and Recovery," and the press event on November 6-7, 2013. Both events were held at the National Archive Building in Washington, D.C.

The Iraqi Embassy in Washington organized a cultural seminar titled "Mechanisms for Empowering Women in Iraq and the Role of Civil Society Organizations," attended by a group of Iraqi women in the United States, alongside embassy staff. The seminar began with a welcoming address from the embassy, reaffirming the Iraqi government's commitment to women's issues and encouraging the participants to share ideas for advancing the status of women in Iraq ...

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein during his visit to Brussels, which is the second round of his official tour to European countries, stated that Iraq is a promising country and has the future, adding that “We are trying to make clear to neighboring countries that we want to establish balanced relations … We ask neighboring countries to respect the sovereignty of Iraq, and not to interfere in its affairs.”

This came during the hosting of the Minister by the European Press Club in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
