Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Korean Republic Foreign Minister Mrs. Kang Kyung-wha, on the sidelines of the Davos Economic Forum Meetings in Switzerland.
During the meeting discussions focused on ways of developing bilateral relations at all levels: political, economic and cultural.
Minister Alhakim stressed Iraq's desire to achieve a quantum leap in economic cooperation and development, to achieve the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
The two sides discussed the issue of facilitating the granting of entry visas to businessmen of both countries, the entry of Korean companies into the Iraqi market for investment and it’s contribution to capacity building, especially in the areas of health, hospitals building and training of medical staffs.
The two sides reviewed the developments and current events in the regional and international arena, and Iraq's efforts in countering terrorism and its supportive role for security and stability in the region.
Minister Alhakim called for working to develop constructive cooperation, and coordinating to face challenges that threaten international peace and security, and to continue political consultations between the two countries' officials.
