Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim
received a phone call from Mr. Pekka Haavisto, the Finnish Foreign Minister and discussed the latest developments in Iraq.
Minister Al-Hakim stressed the importance of achieving partnership between Iraq and Finland , stressing that Iraq will not allow it to be a battlefield, calling for the need to respect Iraqi sovereignty and stop violations, and valued Finland’s efforts within the international coalition to fight Da’esh.
On his part, Mr. Pekka Haavisto, the Finnish Foreign Minister, expressed his country’s support for the efforts of Iraq in achieving security and stability, affirming the continuation of cooperation between the two countries, and working to calm and prevent escalation.
