Foreign Minister Meets with Danish Counterpart and Calls for Reopening of Danish Embassy in Baghdad

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with the Danish Foreign Minister Mr. Jeppe Kofod and reviewed with him the developments of the bilateral relations between the two countries and developing them in all fields, especially economic and trade, and encouraging Danish investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Iraq.

The two sides discussed several regional issues of common concern, the importance of continuing efforts to achieve stability, as well as fighting terrorism in the region, and the need to adopt supportive positions for countries in the region in light of the current situation.

Minister Alhakim expressed his appreciation for Denmark’s stances in support of Iraq, and its contribution to building the capabilities of the Iraqi forces and humanitarian support.

Minister Alhakim called for the reopening of the Danish embassy in Baghdad in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations, stressing that Iraq refuses to extend the conflict to its territory, or turn it into an arena for conflicts.
