The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq extends its well wishes to Iraqi people and Islamic countries on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. May Allah bless our nation with peace.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah received Mrs. Victoria Taylor on July 27 and congratulated her on assuming position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs; exchanged views on bilateral cooperation & regional & international situations.

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met the US Vice President Mike Pence.

The meeting discussed the relations between Baghdad and Washington, files of mutual interest and continued cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

Efforts to eliminate terrorism, combat extremist ideology, eliminate funding sources and the continue of US-led international coalition to provide security and intelligence support to Iraq were also discussed.

In light of the Iraqi government's efforts to protect and preserve Iraq's cultural and historical heritage, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington calls upon all Iraqis and friends to contribute to these efforts by handing over any Iraqi visual works (archaeological & cultural artifacts) whether original or replica, they may possess.
This call reaffirms the importance of our national heritage as an integral part of our cultural and historical identity, which requires all of us to work together to protect and preserve it.

Ambassador Nazar Al Khirullah directed that the e-mail below be dedicated to communicate with the Iraqi community and receive their suggestions, opinions and complaints; the ambassador will personally see all messages received via this e-mail and take the

His Excellency Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jafaari met with UNESCO's General Director, Mrs. Audrey Azoulay, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting discussed UNESCO's support for Iraq and stressed the need to rehabilitate ancient cities.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani returned to the capital, Baghdad, after concluding his official visit to the United States, which included a series of meetings, discussions, seminars, dialogues, and other events, as follows:

The President hosted a meeting today at the al-Salam Palace on meeting protestors Demands.
In addition to President Salih, Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, Speaker of parliament Mohammed al-Halbouosi, and Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Fa'iq Zidan attended the meeting.
All meeting participates discussed the current political and security situations across the country, asserted the importance of setting a deadline for meeting protestors' legitimate demands regarding the reforms and combating of corruption.
