Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim participated in the 6th Istanbul Mediation Conference which is taking place in Turkey with the participation of representatives from different countries of the world.

The conference will discuss mediation, efforts to resolve disputes through peaceful means, and prepare guidelines . In addition, experts, researchers and academics from around the world will seek ways to promote the use of mediation as an important means of preventing conflicts and finding solutions through diplomacy.

Prime Minister-designated Mustafa Al-Kadhimi continues his government formation talks in constructive atmosphere in cooperation of political blocs and social activities, according to the directions announced in his speech, where he held during the past days a series of meetings and consultations during which he affirmed his intention to present his government program and to form the new government as soon as possible.

Meeting today at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, President Salih stressed that Iraq looks forward to work jointly with the fraternal and friendly States to advance regional security and stability, mitigate the tensions as well as avoiding further escalation which would undermine the chance of peace regionally and internationally.

His Excellency Prime Minister the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has ordered all operations leaders in the provinces to tighten the security procedures of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) warehouses and increase the security forces allocated for its protection.
