On July 21st, 2013, H.E. Ambassador Lukman Faily attended a Ramadan Iftar event at the Iraqi General Consulate in Detroit, Michigan. Iftar is the meal that marks the end of the daily fast.
The Ambassador welcomed hundreds of people from the Iraqi community and extended his congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The Ambassador also discussed many issues of concern to the community, and praised them for their contribution to society in the United States and in rebuilding Iraq.
Iraqi Counsel General of Detroit Mr. Almanhal Al Safi joined the Ambassador in greeting attendees and conveying the wishes of the Government of Iraq during this holy month.
